Bo Diddley Blues Trail Marker

This Mississippi Blues Trail marker honors Bo Diddley, born Ellas Bates McDaniel near McComb in 1928. The marker is small, but the story is not: Diddley's hard-edged rhythm, tremolo guitar, and studio experiments helped shape rock and roll.

The marker stands by the railroad museum, so it works best as part of a downtown loop rather than as a separate pilgrimage. It also points you toward McComb's wider Black music history, which ran through clubs, cafes, and street life on nearby Summit Street.
