The depot museum sits beside the tracks that gave McComb its reason to exist. The city was laid out as a railroad shop town in the 1870s, and the museum keeps that story tangible with depot exhibits, local rail history, and outdoor rolling stock.
The historic station was badly damaged by fire in 2021, then rebuilt and reopened to the public in early 2026. That makes the stop feel less like a static museum and more like a town choosing to keep its own origin story visible.
