Claiborne County Courthouse is one of the old civic landmarks of Port Gibson, a town whose historic centre still feels tied to the Mississippi River country around it. The courthouse has burned and been rebuilt more than once, which gives it a layered local history rather than a frozen-in-time feel.
It is worth a short look while walking between Port Gibson's churches, monuments and antebellum houses.
