Round Spring is one of the more unusual springs in the park. The spring rises into a perfectly circular pool that was originally a cave whose roof collapsed; the remaining arch of dolomite still bridges the outlet, so the water flows out under a low natural bridge before joining the Current River. The pool is small but deep, and the water is the colour of weak indigo.
The short paved loop trail is wheelchair-accessible and takes about ten minutes. Cave tours used to run from the spring area into the cave system upstream — they were suspended to protect bat populations and have not resumed. The campground here is a quiet option if you are floating the Current and want to stay near the river.
