Wayfarers State Park

67-acre lakefront park just south of Bigfork with a beach, boat launch, and picnic areas

Wayfarers State Park occupies 67 acres of Flathead Lake shoreline just half a mile south of Bigfork's village centre. It has a good beach for swimming, a boat launch and small marina, picnic areas with fire rings, and hiking trails that run along the lake and up into the adjacent forest. The campground is popular in summer and often books out weeks in advance.

The park is an easy walk or cycle from Bigfork's main street. Even if you're not camping, it's worth stopping to swim from the sandy beach and walk the shoreline trail. The views south across Flathead Lake from the point are among the best in the area.

The park is managed by Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. A day-use fee applies; camping requires a reservation.
