West Shore State Park protects a forested stretch of Flathead Lake shoreline, with picnic areas, swimming access, short trails, and a deep-water boat launch. In summer, the lake is the point: clear water, mountain views, and a quieter west-shore feel than the busier resort towns.
It works best as a half-day stop on a drive around Flathead Lake, especially if you want an easy place to get down to the water.
