The Lincoln County Museum is the best first stop in Pioche, a small local museum that gathers mining, railroad, ranching, and family-history material from a very large and very empty county. It gives the town's gunfight stories and courthouse scandals some grounding.
Like many rural museums, the charm is in the accumulation: ore samples, old photographs, tools, domestic objects, and fragments of the town that survived because someone refused to throw them away.
