Little A'Le'Inn

The Little A'Le'Inn is Rachel's only business of any size — a bar, diner, and motel that has been serving UFO enthusiasts, curious travellers, and the occasional long-haul trucker since the late 1980s. The interior is dense with alien memorabilia: photographs of strange lights in the sky, newspaper clippings about Area 51, model saucers, and the accumulated debris of decades of people who came here looking for something they could not quite name. It is kitschy, self-aware, and genuinely charming.

The food is standard American bar fare — burgers, sandwiches, fries — but perfectly adequate after a long drive through the empty desert. The Alien Burger is the signature item. The motel rooms out back are basic but functional if you want to spend the night under Rachel's extraordinary dark skies. The staff are used to outsiders and happy to talk about the history of the region, the military base on the other side of the mountains, and the strange things people claim to have seen in the sky over the years.

A story
The Little A'Le'Inn gained worldwide attention in 2019 when a Facebook event called "Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us" attracted over two million RSVPs from people proposing to rush the base. The actual event drew a few thousand curious visitors to the Nevada desert, many of whom ended up in Rachel at the inn. The owners, who had seen Area 51 tourism come and go for decades, greeted the invasion with good humour and sold a lot of alien-themed merchandise.
