A small, free city zoo on the banks of the Spring River. Exhibits are modest by big-city standards but adequate: bison, cougars, llamas, prairie dogs, and a children's petting zoo. The setting under cottonwoods alongside the river is genuinely pleasant.
Adjoining the zoo, the city park includes a 1/4-mile miniature railroad (small fee), a carousel, and a fishing lake. Best in the cooler months when the high desert sun isn't relentless. Free admission, donations encouraged.
