Lark Street is Albany's best-known neighborhood main street, running between Washington Park and the Empire State Plaza area. It has long been associated with local youth culture, small shops, cafes, bars, and street life.
The street is most interesting as part of a walk through central Albany, especially when combined with Washington Park, the Capitol, and nearby museum stops. In September, Lark Street hosts LarkFest, one of the city's larger street fairs.
