Clarence Fahnestock State Park protects a large stretch of wooded Hudson Valley hills east of Cold Spring and near Carmel. Trails, lakes, and picnic areas make it one of the better outdoor stops in Putnam County.
The park is most useful for hiking, swimming in season, and quiet woodland drives. A car is the easiest way to reach the trailheads and park facilities.
