Lorenzo State Historic Site

1807 Federal-style estate overlooking Cazenovia Lake, preserved with family collections and grounds.

Lorenzo State Historic Site is the most important historic stop in Cazenovia. The 1807 Federal-style house was built for John Lincklaen, agent of the Holland Land Company and founder of the village, and it stayed with the Lincklaen-Ledyard family until it passed to New York State.

The house matters because it still feels connected to its landscape: lawns, lake views, outbuildings, and family collections rather than a stripped-down shell. Check tour times before you go, since access to the interior can vary by season.
