DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is a compact neighbourhood of former industrial warehouses converted to galleries, restaurants, technology offices and expensive apartments. The view down Washington Street, with the Manhattan Bridge framing the Empire State Building in the gap, is one of the most photographed in New York.
