Grand Army Plaza marks the southeast entrance to Central Park. Its most visible features are the gilded statue of General William Tecumseh Sherman and the Pulitzer Fountain, crowned by a bronze figure of Pomona.
The plaza is a natural waypoint between Fifth Avenue, the park, and nearby museum and shopping areas. It is more a landmark to pause at than a destination for a long visit.
