Historic Richmond Town

Living history museum of 30 historic buildings on the site of Staten Island's colonial county seat

Historic Richmond Town is a 100-acre museum complex at the site of the original county seat of Staten Island, dating from the 17th century. Thirty historic structures have been preserved or relocated here, including the oldest surviving elementary school building in the United States (the Voorlezer's House, built around 1695). Demonstrations of period crafts, trades and domestic life run throughout the year.
