The San Remo

The San Remo is one of the Upper West Side's great pre-war apartment buildings, instantly recognisable by its twin towers above Central Park West. Emery Roth designed it in 1930 in an Art Deco style that feels both grand and residential.

You cannot tour the private building, but the exterior is worth a look while walking between the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, and the neighbourhood's old apartment blocks.
