The Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse is the harbour landmark you see from the waterfront and from many lake-facing streets. Its white tower sits out on the west pier, exposed to Lake Ontario weather and giving the city its classic port silhouette.
Access changes with weather and tour schedules, so check with the maritime museum before counting on a close visit. Even from shore, it is worth a look while you are walking the harbour.
