Glen Lake

Quiet glacial lake with public swimming and a small boat launch

Glen Lake is a three-mile-long glacial lake that runs along the west side of Queensbury, just behind the ridge from Lake George. It is shallower and warmer than its more famous neighbour and is largely ringed by lakefront houses, with a public boat launch and a small swimming area on the southern shore.

The lake is good for paddling, fishing for largemouth bass and northern pike, and ice skating in February. The hiking trails up Pilot Knob on the east side offer a quick climb with a long view over both lakes. Less busy and less expensive than Lake George.
