Saratoga Performing Arts Center

The Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) is an outdoor amphitheater in the state park, seating 5,000 under a covered pavilion with lawn seating for thousands more. The New York City Ballet and Philadelphia Orchestra are summer residents, performing their full classical seasons here each July. Rock, pop, and jazz acts fill the rest of the calendar.

The setting in the woods of the state park is excellent — cool in the evenings even in summer, with mature trees surrounding the lawn seating. Bringing a picnic for a Philadelphia Orchestra evening is one of the better ways to spend a summer night in upstate New York.
