The Ashtabula Lift Bridge carries West Fifth Street over the river at the harbour. Built for a waterfront that handled ore freighters and marina traffic, it still defines the approach to the lakefront district.
It is especially handsome after dark, when blue lights reflect in the river. During the day it makes a good starting point for a walk along Bridge Street and the harbour.
