Waterworks Park

Waterworks Park runs along the Cuyahoga River gorge on the western bank, giving visitors a long stretch of riverside trails, picnic areas, and direct access to the water. The park takes its name from the old municipal waterworks that once occupied the site; the infrastructure is long gone but the riverfront setting remains.

The trails connect to the wider Gorge Metro Park system and eventually to Cuyahoga Valley National Park to the south, making this a useful starting point for longer walks. In summer the park fills with families; anglers work the deeper pools below the rapids; and the stone pavilion near the main parking area hosts occasional outdoor events. A paved biking path runs through the park, connecting to the Towpath Trail that follows the old Ohio and Erie Canal south through the national park.
