The Brown Family Environmental Center is Kenyon's nature preserve on the western edge of Gambier. Trails cross prairie, woods, wetlands, and river-bottom habitat, with a small nature center and gardens adding structure to the walk.
It is a good counterweight to the campus: less polished, more open, and especially pleasant in spring wildflower season or during fall color. Most trails are easy, but bring shoes you do not mind getting muddy after rain.
