St Mark's Church is one of Jim Thorpe's strongest pieces of Gothic Revival architecture, with rich interior detail and a hill-town setting above Broadway. It shows how much money and ambition flowed through Mauch Chunk in the railroad years.
Public access can be seasonal or tour-based, so check locally before climbing up. Even from outside, it adds a lot to the town's Victorian skyline.
