The Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church was founded by the original German settlers in 1837, a few years after John Roebling and his brother led the colonisation of the area. The present white frame building dates to 1843 and is the architectural anchor of Main Street: a simple gabled meeting house with a slender steeple, set back behind a small graveyard.
Roebling himself attended, though as an idiosyncratic Lutheran rather than a Presbyterian by upbringing. The graveyard contains the original settlers and their descendants and is open to walk.
