Wellsboro Main Street is not the reason to cross Pennsylvania, but it is why the town works so well as a base. The gas lamps, courthouse square, and older storefronts give it a settled, small-town character that feels more personal than the motel strips outside many parks.
Come back after the canyon for dinner or a short evening walk. The street is compact, easy to understand, and at its best when the lamps are on.
