Memorial Stadium, better known as Death Valley, is the blunt symbol of Clemson's football culture. On home Saturdays in autumn, the stadium and surrounding campus take over the town's rhythm completely.
If you are not here for a game, the stadium is still useful as a landmark for understanding Clemson. This is a small town with a very large sports identity, and the scale of the place makes that obvious.
