The Texas Outdoor Musical is a summer spectacle staged in the amphitheatre inside Palo Duro Canyon. It is big, earnest, and very Panhandle: frontier mythology, music, dancing, horses, and canyon walls as the backdrop.
It will not suit every traveler, but it is a memorable way to spend a warm evening after hiking. Book ahead in season and bring a layer; the canyon can cool quickly after sunset.
