Landa Park is the green heart of New Braunfels, a 50-acre park wrapped around the headwaters of the Comal River. It is a good place to see why the town is so tied to spring water: clear channels, big shade trees, picnic lawns, paddle boats, a miniature train, and walking paths all sit within easy reach of downtown.
Come early on summer weekends if you want the quieter version. Later in the day it becomes a family picnic ground, which is part of its charm but not ideal if you are after solitude.
