Mount Hor stands on the western shore of Lake Willoughby, directly across the water from Mount Pisgah. While not as high as its neighbour, it offers an equally rewarding hike and the added benefit of being considerably less crowded. The trailhead is off Hinton Hill Road on the western side of the lake.
The East Lookout, about halfway up, gives an open view across to the cliffs of Pisgah and down the length of the lake. The summit itself is wooded, but a short scramble to the ledges just below the top provides a full panorama. The trail network here connects to Sentinel Rock State Park, making a loop possible if you want a longer day.
