A story
The Fralin is the University of Virginia's main art museum and one of the better small university art museums in the American South. The collection spans 5,000 years and includes significant holdings in American art, African art, and works on paper. The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection, housed in a separate building in Charlottesville, is part of the same institution — it is the only museum outside Australia dedicated to the display of Aboriginal Australian art, which is an unusual thing to find in a Virginia university town.
