The Captain Timothy Hill House is probably the oldest surviving house on Chincoteague Island, built around 1800 and moved to its present site in 1980 to save it from demolition. Its pit-sawn and hewn pine construction gives you a close look at the rougher, older island before beach tourism arrived.
It is a small stop, but a good one if you want local history to go with the wildlife refuge and lighthouse.
