Skyline Caverns is the classic Front Royal rainy-day or hot-afternoon sight: a guided walk through a cool limestone cave just outside town. The cave was opened to visitors after its 1937 discovery and is best known for anthodites, delicate white crystal sprays that are rare enough to make the tour feel different from the usual cavern circuit.
Tours take about an hour and stay on developed paths. The miniature train and mirror maze are aimed mostly at families, but the cave itself is the reason to come.
