Asotin County Museum

A pioneer-history museum and small heritage village 15 minutes south of Clarkston in Asotin.

The Asotin County Museum sits in the centre of the small riverbank town of Asotin, 15 minutes south of Clarkston. Inside the main building are local pioneer-history exhibits, a collection of branding irons said to be one of the most complete in the western United States, and rotating displays on the Nez Perce, the steamboats that once worked the Snake, and the local sheep-ranching economy.

Outside, a small heritage village has been assembled from buildings moved to the site: an 1881 log cabin, a country schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, and a one-room jail. Run almost entirely by volunteers; donations welcomed.
