Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve

Ebey's Landing is the main reason Coupeville belongs on an itinerary. The reserve protects a rare stretch of Puget Sound where Coast Salish history, 19th-century farms, open prairie, bluffs, and working town life still read as one landscape.

The bluff trail is the classic walk. It climbs above Admiralty Inlet with views toward the Olympic Mountains, then loops back by beach and farmland. Bring a wind layer even in good weather; this is one of those places where the view gets bigger as the air gets sharper.
