Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge protects the long, hooked sand spit north of Sequim, a narrow beach walking far out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The spit shelters tideflats, eelgrass, shorebirds, wintering ducks, harbour seals, and salmon nurseries.
The full walk to New Dungeness Lighthouse and back is long and tide-dependent, so check conditions and give yourself enough daylight. Even a shorter walk from the bluff overlook down to the beach gives you the strange scale of the place.
