Whitman College is woven into the east side of downtown Walla Walla and is worth a wander even if you have no campus business. The grounds are leafy and calm, with public sculptures, old trees, and a small-college atmosphere that helps shape the city.
During the academic year, check for theatre, concerts, and talks. Even without an event, the campus makes an easy walk between downtown and the older residential streets.
