Bottle Beach State Park protects mud flats and shoreline on Grays Harbor, a short drive from Westport. It is best known for birdwatching, especially during migration, when shorebirds feed across the exposed flats.
The park is quiet and low-key, with more appeal for patient walkers and birders than for beach loungers. Bring binoculars and check the tide, because the flats change character completely as the water comes and goes.
