Devil's Lake State Park

Wisconsin's busiest state park, with a clear lake under steep quartzite bluffs.

Devil's Lake State Park is the natural reason to come to Baraboo. Trails climb to quartzite overlooks above the lake, with wooded slopes, talus, beaches, and views across the Baraboo Range.

It is popular and can feel crowded on summer weekends, but the landscape earns the traffic. Hikers should take one of the bluff trails; climbers come for the exposed quartzite routes.
