Madison Children's Museum is just off Capitol Square and is one of the city's easiest family stops. The exhibits are hands-on, playful and built for children, with enough odd details and creative design to keep adults from feeling trapped.
It works well before or after the Capitol, the farmers' market or State Street, especially in bad weather or when younger travellers need a break from conventional sightseeing.
