Stockholm Institute

The Stockholm Institute is the cultural anchor of the village — a gallery and event space that mounts rotating exhibitions of work by regional and national artists. It occupies a restored 19th-century building on Main Street and operates on weekends through the summer season.

The exhibitions focus on painting, photography, ceramics, and mixed media, with a recurring interest in work responding to the Mississippi landscape and river culture. The institute also hosts occasional lectures and workshops. Hours are limited outside peak summer months; check locally before planning around a visit.
