The village park sits right on the shore of Lake Pepin, with a 700-foot pier reaching out over the Mississippi. This is the place to be at sunset, when the bluffs on the Minnesota side glow orange and the river goes quiet. A boat launch gives kayakers and small craft access to the lake, and the dock is a reliable fishing spot for walleye and sauger.
The park hosts the Stockholm Art Fair each August, the biggest event on the village calendar. During the fair the galleries along Main Street open late, the street fills with artists' tents, and this otherwise somnolent place comes briefly to life. Outside fair season the park is a peaceful spot for a picnic or a slow afternoon watching river traffic.
