Red Eye Brewing is Wausau's best-known craft brewery and a reliable spot for a meal in the downtown area. The brewpub occupies a converted warehouse on Washington Street and produces a solid range of ales and lagers, several of which have won regional awards. The food menu goes well beyond standard pub fare, with a serious burger, locally sourced produce, and rotating seasonal dishes.
The outdoor patio is lively in summer, particularly when there are events at the nearby 400 Block park. A good first stop on arrival in Wausau.
