Trail End at 400 Clarendon Avenue is the 1913 Flemish Revival mansion of John B. Kendrick — cattle rancher, Governor of Wyoming, and United States Senator. The house is unusually grand for a ranching town, with 13,748 square feet of living space, original furnishings, and a full-width carriage house. It is maintained by Wyoming State Parks as a museum.
The interiors convey the lifestyle of the Wyoming cattle elite at the peak of the ranching era: rich woodwork, leaded glass, a formal dining room with original china. The grounds are pleasant for a walk, and the house is well interpreted. Open most days in summer; reduced hours in winter. Entry is cheap by any standard.
