Itiquira Falls is the sight that puts Formosa on the map: a clean, narrow river dropping 168 metres from the central plateau into the ParanĂ£ valley. The fall is inside Parque Municipal do Itiquira, with straightforward access by paved road from town.
You cannot swim directly under the main drop, where the force of the water is too strong. Downstream pools and smaller cascades make the visit less of a quick photo stop and more of a proper half-day outing.
