Pajuçara is the busiest and most practical of Maceió's central beaches. This is where the jangadas leave for the natural pools, where visitors browse the craft market, and where the waterfront promenade feels most like a working piece of the city.
The beach is sheltered by reefs, so the water is usually calmer than it looks from a map. It is not the quietest stretch of sand, but it is the easiest place to understand how Maceió's beach life works.
