The Encontro dos Rios is where the Poti River meets the ParnaĆba, about eight kilometres north of the centre. In the dry season the different colours of the two rivers can be visible for a short distance after they join, a small-scale echo of Manaus's more famous meeting of waters.
The surrounding park is simple, with a fishermen's monument, a few places to eat, and short boat rides when the river level allows. Come late in the afternoon, when the heat eases and the low sun gives the water some colour.
