Morro do Elefante is the classic quick viewpoint above Capivari. The cable car makes it easy, and the reward is a broad look over Campos do Jordão, the tourist centre, and the surrounding folds of the Mantiqueira.
It is a simple stop rather than a wild mountain outing. Go early or late if you want the view without the thickest crowds.
