Pico do Selado rises just over 2,000 metres in the mountains near São Francisco Xavier. The trail is roughly 10 km and takes several hours, with enough difficulty that it is not a casual family stroll.
On clear days the summit gives wide views across the Paraíba Valley and neighbouring mountain towns. Start early, and do not treat it as an add-on after a long lunch.
