Serra de Santa Helena

Hilltop chapel and cerrado ridge with wide views over Sete Lagoas and its lakes.

Serra de Santa Helena rises just outside the city and gives Sete Lagoas its best view. At the top is the small Capela de Santa Helena, a local pilgrimage point, with open ground around it where you can see the city, lakes, farms, and low hills spread out below.

The wider ridge has cerrado vegetation, walking paths, and places used for paragliding and hang-gliding when conditions are right. Go late in the afternoon if you can; the light is softer and the city looks better from above.
