Parque Natural El Gallineral

River island park in San Gil, shaded by old trees hung with long strands of moss.

Parque Natural El Gallineral is San Gil's gentlest sight: a small island-like park formed where the Curiti stream meets the Fonce River. Its old trees are draped with long, pale strands of moss, giving the paths a strange, soft shade that feels far removed from the traffic outside.

It is also a useful landmark. Many adventure operators gather near the entrance, so a walk here often becomes the pause before or after rafting, canyoning, or whatever else you have booked for the day.
